Sam Greenlee’s “The Spook Who Sat by the Door” Film Screening, including talk by former political prisoner Ojore Lutalo!

February 12, 2010

Friday, February 12, 6:00pm – 10:00pm
@ St. Stephen’s Church, 1525 Newton Street NW

Join us as we screen the 70’s cult classic “The Spook Who Sat by the Door” – historical fiction that presents a “what if” scenario, depicting some of the more radical factions of the civil rights era. Doors open at 6pm. The film will start promptly at 7pm.

Plot summary:
Sam Freeman, secretly a black nationalist, has just completed training to become the CIA’s first black agent. Little do they know he will use the tactics they equip him with to organize former gang members into a revolutionary guerrilla army for the freedom of the black nation in the United States.

It is our humble pleasure to announce that Ojore Lutalo, former political prisoner and Black Liberation fighter, will be joining us for this evening’s film screening.

Mr. Lutalo, having recently finished a 20 year prison sentence for his involvement in a bank expropriation with the Black Liberation army as well as his efforts to rid his community of drug dealers, is slated to speak after the film.

Spread the word! This is a special opportunity to hear the wisdom imparted by a seasoned veteran of anarchist struggle.
